Tomorrow is Our First Royal Caribbean Cruise Day!

Our first cruise day is tomorrow. We are all packed up. Our house is buttoned up. We have a timeline for our day. I am SO ready! Excited doesn’t even really cover it.

What are we looking forward to on our first Royal Caribbean Cruise?

I’m looking forward to relaxing. Waking up to the sound of the ocean every morning. Not having to cook or clean anything for a week. My husband is looking forward to the sun. Warmth. And spending time with me. (Honestly, I didn’t pay him to say that!) This is the first time we have both had down time in the same place for several years. We didn’t get a honeymoon after we got married. As far as we are concerned, this is it.

What will we do on our first Royal Caribbean Cruise?

We will be embarking tomorrow afternoon on the Adventure of the Seas. I’m not sure how much time there will be to do things on Day 1, but on the second day, we will definitely be signing up for some activities. Adventure of the Seas has 52 things on the Activities and Shows list. You can check them out here->

There is a 12 meter high rock climbing wall. Splashaway Bay Water Park. Ice Skating. I will probably skip that one. Mystery Dinner Theatre that I would love to do. Jewellery making and other art related events. Dance and fitness classes. And of course all kinds of night life options. Some of these are included in the cost of your cruise, and some cost extra. I really want to try the Flowrider, so I’m glad that is included.

What choices will we have for dining on our Royal Caribbean Cruise?

Everyone always raves about the great food options there are on cruises. On ours, there are nine different dining options for us to chose from. The ones that are included in the cost are the Windjammer, Café Promenade, and the Main Dining room. Giovanni’s Table, and Chops Grille, the moderately priced (Prix Fixe) options. The Izumi restaurant is A La Carte. Chef’s Table is the expensive gourmet restaurant and it is Prix Fixe. For inexpensive casual dining you have Johnny Rockets. And of course there is room service!

Where will we drink on our first Royal Caribbean Cruise?

Nine restaurants. Nine bars and lounges. The Diamond and Suite lounges are restricted to guests who meet the criteria for those. That still leaves us with seven other places to hang out in the evenings and have a cocktail. The Schooner Bar has a piano. Boleros looks festive.

The Solarium Bar looks like it is more fun during the day than at night. The Viking Crown Lounge looks like it has amazing views. My husband is probably going to want to hang out in the English Pub, but I’m going to try to talk him into at least one drink at the Champagne Bar. That just leaves the Pool Bar, which is probably also best during the day.

I’m hoping to get plenty of still shots and videos to share once we start our adventure tomorrow. I can’t wait to start sharing some of the view and reviews! If you want to see the updates, please subscribe!
